As I promised previously, I’m gonna post about my trip to Orchid Garden, Kuching. I went there with my friend, Miss S, of course with her car, coz I didn’t have one. Hehe
The entrance fee in nada! Nil! Free entrance, I like! Teehee. Went there ~ 11.00 am becoz someone woke up very late ehemm *clear throat* . It’s located near Astana. If you are from Kek Lapis Shop, it’s about 3 km journey from there. Better go during morning or late evening, to avoid being directly under the sun, very hot u know. Recommended for orchid-lover, especially emak2. Not really sure if bapak2 will enjoy this place or not. Hehe.
So here some pictures I managed to snap. Dont ask me the specific name for the orchid. All I know is this flower is called Orchid, that’s all. Haha
Actually there’s also a cold house? for Orchid that it’s natural habitat is at a lower temperature, but the house is under renovation during my visit last time.
We spend about 1 and half hour inside the garden and then went to fill our grumbling stomach. It’s lunch hour already. After moments of difficult discussion of which place to eat, we decided to go to My Mom’s Laksa near Petrajaya. I ate Laksa Sarawak. It was delicious. Recommended for whoever come to this restaurant. They do have other food in menu, but I really crave for Laksa Sarawak at that time. 🙂
Last weekend, I have 2 days off-day (on Saturday and Sunday). Hence I give myself some ‘me’ time, discovering Kuching solo (err actually not really solo).
On saturday morning, after waking up from sleep I randomly plan to stay at hotel for 1 night at the city of Kuching. After browsing for an affordable hotel price at Agoda, Booking.com and hotel’s official website, I decided to stay 1 night at Riverside Majestic Hotel. I paid a bit cheaper from the actual price because of promo. teehee. Btw, I did my booking first at website booking.com, and only pay during my check in. I stayed at Deluxe Room with price ~ RM200 per night (including gst and breakfast). I was satisfied with the room, very comfortable and plus, it’s riverview. I like that! except the part that the outer side of the window was actually quite dusty and errrr moldy? Here I share some of the pictures of my hotel room.
After check in around 3pm, I stroll along the Kuching Waterfront and then i took a short boat ride to the other side of the river. Why? It’s because I want to buy kek lapis sarawak lah~ The fee per ride is around 50 cent – Rm1 (according to the boat owner). If u’re lucky, then u pay for 50cents only. After reaching there, u can see Mira Kek Lapis shop. Got free sample of kek lapis for you to taste over here. I took a few bites (err a lot actually) of kek lapis sample. The taste.. ok lah. Hehe. Not a fan of kek lapis, but I can say that the fruit cake over there is marvellous and delicious and the texture is not dry. Actually there’s a lot of other shops selling kek lapis, besides Mira Kek Lapis House, example Dayang Salhah Kek Lapis (to go here, you need to go on your right side after going down from your boat, walk ~100meter and then turn left. The shop is located beside the Mosque). Or else use Waze la, apalagi kekeke.
After spending some time in Kek Lapis Shop, I headed back using the boat across the river. Then I just walk randomly at any street near the hotel. Got myself ‘Aiskrim Gula Apong’ at DP Gula Apong stall. The stall is located just beside Kapit Hotel. Can use waze for direction lol. Aiskrim Gula Apong is a must eat food if u’re in Sarawak. Haha. Unfortunately I didn’t snap any picture of the icecream. Then I went to Tun Jugah Mall, browsing for books in Popular Bookstore. Got myself 3 novels tsk tsk tsk. Then I went back to the hotel to avoid any more money flying out from my purse kekeke.
The next day (Sunday), I went to Orchid Garden with my friend. I’ll write about it on the next entry k, 🙂
